Where we stand
Compliance is common sense with evidence attached. A system built the way it should be — changes reviewed, policy enforced rather than documented, services that authenticate to each other — is most of the way there before anyone mentions an auditor. The properties that satisfy the audit are the ones that prevent the call at two in the morning. Build for the second and the first comes with it.
